Interpreting the numbers - the challenge of interpreting hepatobiliary clinical pathology.

Diagnosing hepatobiliary disease can be challenging. Clinical signs are often not particularly specific and clinical pathology, though often helpful, may not provide the "instant answer" we seek in confirming whether hepatobiliary disease is present and if so what the pathology is. In this lecture, we will discuss the challenges we may face in interpreting of several key clinical pathology tests including liver enzymes, bile acids and pancreatic lipase in dogs and cats.
