Should I Stay or Should I Go: Harnessing The Power of Mentorship for Retention

Veterinary medicine is one of the least diverse professions in the United States. The homogeneity of our profession impacts our client care as well as our advancement as a profession. Diversification efforts in veterinary medicine must evaluate accessibility, representation, equity, inclusion and belonging. In this session, we will discuss a positive mentorship as an approach to recruitment and retention. We also will understand the relevance of mentorship for individuals from groups underrepresented in veterinary medicine.
